IYT hosted Parent Orientation Night at Johansen High School: On September 24th, the IYT Johansen Team hosted an evening for parents to come out to the school and meet the staff and learn more about IYT and what to look forward to this school year. We had 12 families come out to this event.
Get to know the Brotherhood
Staff and Brothers enjoying a snack break in between activities.
The energy is building at IYT at Johansen High School as we gear up for our official program launch on October 1st! Throughout this past month, our staff and brothers have been diving into dynamic icebreakers and team-building activities designed to create a strong sense of community from day one. These engaging sessions sparked laughter, encouraged collaboration, and helped establish the trust that is essential for our brotherhood. This pre-launch work ensures we're not just starting a program, but building a family. We are ready for an incredible year!

My Why:
My why for the work I do with IYT is to be able to be the person I needed when I was a teenager. I struggled a lot in high school with academics and self-esteem and wished I had a positive role model in my life to encourage me to make better decisions than the ones I was making during that time.
Brother of the Month
Brother Francisco
Brother Francisco joined IYT last school year and was a very active member at Johansen. Initially, Francisco was very shy and didn’t speak much, but over time he got very comfortable in IYT and was able to meet new people in our space. IYT staff noticed a huge growth at the 1300 campaign at UC Merced, where Francisco used his voice and leadership during the week-long stay on campus. Francisco returns to IYT this school year and is now taking on a leadership role as a JR Mentor at Johansen High School and is very excited to lead his peers.
