IYT at Mitchell Middle School kicked off the year with a positive foundation, from our “New Day, New Week, New Opportunity” ritual to our creative “College Soles” workshop where students designed college-themed shoes. We’re already celebrating our brothers' initiative, honoring Trenton for proactively seeking tutoring and new student Christian as our first Brother of the Month for his natural leadership.
New Day/New Week/New Opportunity
Parents of IYT Brothers discuss the power of words (New Day, New Week, New Opportunity).
"It's a new day. It's a new week. It's a new opportunity."
These words are our foundational ritual at IYT at Mitchell Middle School. It's a collective promise that no matter the circumstances, every moment is a chance to reset and refocus. This simple creed instills resilience, reminding our young men that better days are always ahead.
Academic Achievement

This month’s Academic Achievement Spotlight shines on Trenton Ochoa for his incredible initiative and personal accountability. With a clear plan for success, Trenton is proactively attending after-school tutoring to raise his math and Spanish grades. This determination speaks volumes about his character and commitment. We are incredibly proud of you, Trenton!

At IYT Mitchell Middle School we are exposing our students to college in different ways. By researching, watching videos, visiting, or getting creative by doing arts and crafts. We asked our students to find a college of their choice, write two fun facts about it, and decorate the shoe with the appropriate school colors. This promotes the research aspect and using their creative juices in a fun project that they will remember for a long time.
Brother of the Month
Christian
7th Grade
We proudly recognize Christian as our first Brother of the Month. A new student, he has already distinguished himself with excellent attendance, great grades, and impressive leadership qualities on campus.
