My Why: IYT’s mission to disrupt the college opportunity gap for young men of color is more than a vision—it’s a movement I’m proud to join. I look forward to expanding IYT’s impact in Nevada and working alongside our school partners, students, and families to build lasting pathways to college, careers, and leadership.
IYT Offers Opportunity at UNLV Career Fair
Associate Director Walker and College Mentors Bradley and George recruit for College Mentors.
This month, IYT Nevada was proud to engage with the next generation of local leaders at the UNLV Career and Internship Fair. Our team was actively recruiting dynamic college students for our mentor pipeline. These mentors are the lifeblood of our program, responsible for leading programming, providing critical mentorship, and directly supporting the academic and personal growth of our brothers.
To ensure we can effectively serve our diverse student population, we have a high-priority need for passionate, Spanish-speaking mentors. We invite qualified individuals who are interested in this life-changing work to apply.

IYT NV Staff with employees including ED’s mom.
Our IYT Nevada team joined hundreds of Wynn Resorts employees and fellow nonprofits for the annual Feed the Funnel volunteer experience! Together, participants packed over 95,000 meal kits to be distributed to families across Southern Nevada. This hands-on event exemplified the power of partnership and community service in action. A special shoutout goes to our Executive Director, who volunteered alongside his mom, a proud day one Wynn employee, making this experience even more meaningful for our IYT family.

This week, we recognizeBrother Xavier for his outstanding leadership and commitment to brotherhood. When faced with a difficult situation, Xavier stepped up to peacefully stop an altercation and support his brothers with maturity and respect, setting a great example for others.
Eldorado High School Students Promote IYT on Morning Announcements
This past month, Eldorado High School students took the lead in highlighting IYT NV on their morning announcements! The segment featured our Associate Program Director, who shared how IYT is empowering young men of color to excel in school, pursue higher education, and lead in their communities. It’s inspiring to see students share IYT’s mission with their peers.
At IYT Nevada, we believe in the brilliance of young men of color—even when the world doesn’t see it yet. This season, your gift helps us create spaces of brotherhood, mentorship, and belonging in schools across Las Vegas.
